Dear Concerned Community Member:

Shasta Resources Council (SRC) is requesting your financial support in our important mission to save Area 51. As the Redding metropolitan area expands, it is evermore imperative to protect priceless natural resource areas like Area 51 for ourselves and future generations.

Over the past several years, SRC has worked hard to acquire Area 51 for our community, including making a purchase offer at BLM appraised value. Bureau of Land Management rejection of the community's constructive, collective efforts to acquire this treasured resource has given SRC the impetus to team up with the Shasta Coalition for the Preservation of Public Land and the Sacramento River Preservation Trust in filing a lawsuit against the BLM. Our remedy objectives are:

The SRC will join with the Shasta Coalition for the Preservation of Public Land in filing a law suit against the BLM. Our remedy objectives are simple:

  • reverse the trade transaction,
  • allow the SRC to acquire Area 51 for public use.
Your donation will support our legal efforts as we strive to recover Area 51 and change BLM public land disposal practices so that local communities are given priority consideration and local public acquisition is facilitated.

Your donation is 100% tax deductible. The SRC is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt California non-profit corporation - EIN 20-4665582.
